Frequently Asked Questions:

What kind of artworks are available?

All works are wall-based, including prints, drawings, paintings, and photographs, made by artists who were part of the STAFFROOM exhibition. Ceramic or sculptural works aren’t included this scheme.

Are the works from the exhibition included?

A selection of works from the exhibition will be available through the loan scheme, alongside many others from the artists’ wider collections.

Can I choose the artworks?

Of course! We’ll send you a printed catalogue of available works and ask for your preferences. We can also consider your space, style, and any hanging requirements should you wish to seek advice. The catalogue will be sent out in early December, along with instructions on how to select your preferred pieces. Once you've submitted your choices, we’ll confirm your allocated works via email and agree a delivery date in early January 2026. Each work is marked with a unique number, to easily identify which works you’re most drawn to.

Who installs the work?

Following consultation, we deliver the fixings along with the artworks for you to hang them yourself in your own home. We will arrange a time with you to safely swap each piece throughout the year.

What happens if I damage a piece?

We understand accidents happen. We’ll ask you to treat the work with care and let us know right away if something goes wrong. Any major damage or loss may need to be covered, but we’ll handle things on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need to have picture hooks or certain walls?

Not at all! We can chat with you beforehand about your space and figure out what’s possible. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to advise.

When do the swaps happen?

We’ll be in touch to schedule swaps in April and August - giving you three different works across the year. If you sign up before 24 August 2025, you’ll receive a bonus fourth work that takes you into April 2027.

Can the catalogue change during the year?

The work will be exclusive to you during your loan period and cannot be sold, exhibited, or loaned to anyone else. If a second or third-choice artwork is sold before a swap has been made, we’ll work with you to find a suitable replacement by the same artist. Many of the artists have gallery representation, so some small changes may occur. During the year, the catalogue may also be updated with new works. Any updates will be shared via email, and you’ll have the opportunity to adjust your selections if you’d like to include something new.

Can I keep a work if I fall in love with it?

In some cases, yes! The artists may have works for sale and we can put you in touch directly to discuss it.

I live just outside Cambridge – can I still take part?

The scheme is open to CB postcodes only, or places very close by with good transport links. If you’re a little further out, get in touch with your address and we’ll see what’s possible.

What does the fee cover?

The fee helps us cover the costs of the STAFFROOM exhibition including, temporary wall hire, couriers and printing.

Terms & Conditions:

Whilst this fundraiser is organised by staff members of Kettle’s Yard, the loan scheme is entirely independent and not affiliated with Kettle’s Yard in any official capacity. It is being run and managed by Sid White-Jones, one of the exhibition curators.

To take part, all participants will be required to provide their full name, date of birth, and current residential address. This is to ensure safe and accurate delivery of artworks and appropriate record-keeping for the duration of the loan.

At the time of each artwork swap, you will also be asked to sign a simple agreement confirming that the piece is in your care for the next four months. This is purely for clarity and protection on both sides, and no legal expertise is required.
